DE GALLERY is delighted to present Me, My Friends and I, the first solo exhibition by Danish artist Maria Jernov.

In this new body of work, Jernov invites us into an intimate inner landscape where childhood remains a living state of mind. It is a place untouched by the noise of the outside world - where mythical creatures roam freely, curiosity leads the way, and getting lost becomes an invitation rather than a fear.

Working intuitively, Maria Jernov creates paintings that emerge from sensation rather than certainty. The figures, creatures, and imagined companions inhabiting her canvases are not intended as symbols to be decoded, but as gentle presences that leave room for personal interpretation. Each work offers the viewer the freedom to discover their own stories, memories, and emotional connections.

At a time when so much of life demands clarity, speed, and purpose, Me, My Friends and I proposes something different: a space for wonder, playfulness, and reflection.

Through vibrant compositions and an instinctive visual language, Jernov reminds us of the value of staying open to the unknown - and of preserving the childlike ability to experience the world with imagination and care.

This exhibition marks an important milestone in the artist’s practice, bringing together a deeply personal body of work that has until now existed largely as a private creative universe. With Me, My Friends and I, Maria Jernov opens that world to the public for the very first time.

We look forward to welcoming you.

MARIA JERNOV
MARIA PAINTS INTUITIVELY, ALLOWING HER “FRIENDS” TO EMERGE FROM LAYERS OF COLOR AND FORM. THESE FIGURES FEEL BOTH STRANGE AND FAMILIAR - LIKE VISITORS FROM THE SUBCONSCIOUS - EACH CARRYING ITS OWN QUIET STORY.

HER ART INVITES YOU TO PAUSE, REFLECT, AND DISCOVER YOUR OWN NARRATIVES WITHIN THE SHIFTING SHAPES, CREATING A DIALOGUE BETWEEN THE SEEN, THE UNSEEN, AND THE SELF.
